Mental health: Understanding the effects on communities

April 30, 2021

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are excited to highlight the work of our Community Health team!

Wednesday, May 5th is the launch of a free virtual Speaker Series Neighborhood House is offering to our community. These virtual events are opportunities for to engage and learn about Neighborhood House, our community, and how to grow together to achieve our vision of a healthy, diverse, and welcoming community, free of poverty and racism, where all people thrive.

Join Community Health Manager, Leah Post, in a two-part series on Mental Health. The first session, on May 5, will cover the broad definition of mental health and stigmas often associated with it. The second session, on May 26, will focus on how mental health is impacting our communities, how treatment and help varies culturally, and what local resources are available.

Neighborhood House continues to increase access to culturally-responsive health, behavioral health, and prevention services. This GiveBIG let’s invest in learning together to better serve our low-income, immigrant, refugee, and BIPOC communities.
